Traditional production line data governance has many pain points. In high-precision and cutting-edge fields such as semiconductors, photovoltaics, and electronics, large manufacturing industries accumulate TB of new data every day. Faced with massive data, existing production line storage solutions generally focus on selecting high-capacity hard drives, disk array storage, Windows Server FTP/SMB, etc. However, traditional production line storage solutions still face multiple problems in storage, performance, and cost.

Traditional storage solutions use hardware memory caching and single point architecture, which have poor processing capabilities for billions of small files. Faced with massive amounts of data ranging from millions to tens of millions, and even billions, the lack of scalability in local file systems and single point pipeline management of metadata can result in long data query times and affect the quality inspection department's retrieval and traceability of production data.

In traditional storage solutions, IT departments use high-capacity disks for data management. Due to limited disk space, it is necessary to move around and the operation is complicated, which can easily lead to problems such as data deletion and inability to find data. According to industry compliance requirements, spare parts production suppliers need to store production process data based on the product lifecycle time, ranging from a few months to up to 15 years. If enterprises want to meet storage needs such as large capacity, high reliability, and high performance, the investment cost is very high, and it is difficult for enterprises to afford the high cost of disk array expansion and replacement.
